"How much does bedbug treatment cost?" is the first question most people ask. This article explains what drives the cost of professional treatment in Kenya, so you can compare prices sensibly.
Our prices in Nairobi
We charge residential treatment per visit, by the size of the home, and every programme includes two visits, six days apart:
- Studio / bedsitter — KSh 4,500 per visit (KSh 9,000 for both visits)
- 1 bedroom — KSh 5,500 per visit (KSh 11,000)
- 2 bedrooms — KSh 6,500 per visit (KSh 13,000)
- 3 bedrooms — KSh 7,500 per visit (KSh 15,000)
- 4 bedrooms — KSh 8,500 per visit (KSh 17,000)
Larger homes, hotels and commercial premises are quoted individually. See the bedbug control cost page for what is included.
The main factors
Size and layout of the property
A one-bedroom flat takes less time and material than a four-bedroom house or a 30-room guesthouse. The number of rooms that need treatment matters more than the floor area alone.
How far the infestation has spread
A problem confined to one bed is very different from activity in several bedrooms, the sitting room sofa and a neighbouring unit. An inspection establishes this before a firm price is given.
Amount of furniture and clutter
Beds, sofas, wardrobes and stored items all provide hiding places that have to be treated. Heavily furnished or cluttered rooms take longer.
Treatment method
Methods and products are selected according to the inspection findings, the type of property and what the product labels allow. Different approaches involve different time and material costs.
Number of visits
Because bedbug eggs survive many treatments, effective control usually needs more than one visit. Our two-treatment programme includes a second treatment six days after the first; we show the per-visit price and the two-visit total up front so there are no surprises.
Type of property and scheduling
Hotels, hostels and businesses may need work out of hours, coordination across many rooms or units, or reporting for management. Multi-unit buildings may need inspection of adjoining units.
Location
Within Nairobi, travel is straightforward. For properties outside Nairobi, availability and travel need to be confirmed first.
Why the cheapest quote is not always the cheapest outcome
A single low-cost visit that does not address eggs or hidden populations often leads to a second and third treatment, plus weeks of disturbed sleep. When comparing quotes, ask:
- How many visits are included, and how far apart?
- Which rooms and furniture are covered?
- What preparation is expected of you?
- Is there a guarantee, and what do its written terms say?
- What happens if bedbugs are still found afterwards?
How to book or get a quotation
Have this information ready when you call, WhatsApp or use the quotation form:
- Property type and location.
- Number of bedrooms, and which rooms are affected.
- What you have seen (bites, spots, live bugs) and for how long.
- Any treatments already tried.
- Photos of evidence, if you have them.
We will explain what the quotation includes, the preparation required and the guarantee terms before you commit.
