Why a structured two-visit programme?

Bedbug eggs are much harder to kill than active bedbugs, and some bugs shelter in places that are difficult to reach on a single visit. After a one-off treatment, eggs that survived can hatch into a room that looks clear — and the infestation rebuilds.

Our programme is designed around that life cycle. Two professional treatments, six days apart, address the infestation across the treatment cycle: the first treats the active population, and the second targets bedbugs that survived or emerged from eggs after the first visit, before those young bedbugs can mature and lay eggs of their own.

This is the core service of Bedbugs Control Services Kenya, delivered by Pestraid Kenya. When you enquire, you are enquiring about a planned treatment programme — not a single spray visit.

Before treatment: what you need to do

Preparation depends on the treatment method selected for your property, and you will receive specific instructions. Typically it includes:

  • Bagging bedding and clothing from affected rooms for hot washing, as directed.
  • Clearing items from under beds and around the bedroom floor.
  • Emptying bedside drawers and making bed frames, sofas and skirting accessible.
  • Keeping belongings in the affected rooms rather than moving them around the home.
  • Arranging for children and pets to be away for the re-entry period.

Read the full preparation guide.

Visit one: the first treatment

After confirming the infestation, the technician treats the beds, frames, furniture and the hiding places identified in the inspection. Products and methods are selected according to the inspection findings, the property, the people living there and what each product label allows. You are given the re-entry period and aftercare instructions for the specific treatment used.

After the first visit: what to expect

  • Stay out of treated rooms for the re-entry period, then ventilate as directed.
  • Return to sleeping in your own bed once it is safe — it helps draw remaining bedbugs into treated areas.
  • You may see some bedbugs for a short time as hidden bugs come out and contact treated surfaces. This does not mean treatment has failed.
  • Don't clean treated surfaces or apply your own products before the second visit unless the technician agrees.
  • Keep preparation in place so the second treatment can reach the same areas.

Visit two: six days after the first

The second treatment takes place six days after the first visit. If your first treatment is on a Monday, the second is on the following Sunday. It targets surviving bedbugs and nymphs that have hatched since the first visit.

Where the two-treatment programme has been quoted, the second visit is an essential component of the service, not an optional extra. Missing it significantly increases the chance of bedbugs re-establishing.

The six-day interval is the programme's standard schedule. The treatment method and product labels used at your property must support that interval; if a product's label or technical requirements call for a different interval, the label takes precedence and we will tell you before booking.

Programme prices

Charged per visit by the size of your home. The programme always includes both visits.

Residential bedbug treatment prices per visit and for the two-visit programme

4 BedroomsKSh 8,500KSh 17,000

Prices are per treatment visit. Every programme includes two visits, six days apart, so the full programme costs twice the per-visit price. Homes with five or more bedrooms, hotels and commercial premises are quoted individually. Outside Nairobi and Mombasa, please confirm availability first.

How the eradication guarantee works

We stand behind the two-treatment programme with an eradication guarantee, subject to the programme's written terms and conditions. The guarantee is not an unlimited promise: its terms set out exactly what it covers and what you can expect if bedbugs persist.

The written terms set out

  • How long the guarantee lasts
  • What counts as successful eradication
  • Which rooms and furniture are covered
  • The preparation you must complete
  • The remedy if bedbugs persist

Questions to check in the terms

  • Does it require both visits to be completed?
  • Which preparation steps must be followed?
  • How is re-introduction from a neighbouring unit treated?
  • What about furniture brought in after treatment?
  • How and when should new signs be reported?

You receive the full written terms with your quotation, and you are welcome to ask for a copy before you book. Please read them before accepting the quotation. Our terms of service explain how guarantee terms apply.

How to get a quotation

  1. Call or WhatsApp 0710 907628, or use the quotation form.
  2. Tell us the property type, area, the rooms affected and what you have seen.
  3. We confirm availability — Nairobi is our main area; see areas served for elsewhere — and arrange an inspection where needed.
  4. For homes up to four bedrooms the price follows the price list — per visit, for two visits. Larger homes and businesses receive a quotation. Either way you get your preparation instructions and the written guarantee terms.

Not every infestation responds identically. Severity, building layout, re-introduction and preparation all influence results, which is why we assess first and explain the plan before you commit.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Will one treatment eliminate bedbugs?

We do not promise that a single visit will eliminate an infestation. Bedbug eggs are more difficult to kill than active bugs, and some insects may be hidden in places that are hard to reach on the first visit.

That is why our core service is a two-treatment programme: a second treatment six days after the first targets bedbugs that survived or hatched in the meantime.

Is a follow-up treatment necessary?

For an active infestation, yes. Our programme includes a second treatment six days after the first because eggs that survived the first visit can hatch into new nymphs. Where the two-treatment programme has been quoted, the second visit is an essential part of the service, not an optional extra.

How long does professional bedbug treatment take?

The length of each visit depends on the number of rooms, beds and furniture to be treated, and we will give you an estimate when we book. Our standard programme involves two treatment visits six days apart, so the full programme spans about a week, plus any re-entry period stated for the products used.

How should I prepare my bedroom?

Preparation depends on the treatment plan, and you will receive specific instructions before the visit. Common steps include reducing clutter around the bed, bagging bedding and clothing for laundering as directed, and clearing access to bed frames, skirting and furniture.

Please do not move furniture or belongings to other rooms before the visit, as this can spread bedbugs. See our full preparation guide.

When can I return to a treated room?

The technician will tell you the re-entry time for your treatment before they leave. It varies with the product label, the method and ventilation, so we do not publish a single re-entry time that applies to every case. Follow the specific instructions you are given.

How much does bedbug control cost in Nairobi?

Residential treatment is charged per visit by the size of your home: studio/bedsitter KSh 4,500, 1 bedroom KSh 5,500, 2 bedrooms KSh 6,500, 3 bedrooms KSh 7,500 and 4 bedrooms KSh 8,500.

Every programme includes two visits, six days apart, so the full programme is twice the per-visit price — for example KSh 13,000 for a 2-bedroom home. Larger homes, hotels and commercial premises are quoted individually. See the price list.
