Bedbug Powders and Wettable Powders

Wettable powders (WP) are mixed with water to form a spray, following the label's mixing rate. Avoid breathing the powder while measuring and mixing, wear the protection the label specifies, and never apply powder products to bedding or mattresses unless the label specifically allows it.

Wettable powders versus dusts

A wettable powder (WP), such as Pali 50WP, is not dusted on dry. It is weighed out, mixed with water at the rate on the label and applied as a spray. A dust is applied dry, in a thin film, into cracks and voids. The label tells you which kind of product you have and how to use it.

Measuring and mixing safely

  • Measure in a well-ventilated area and avoid creating or breathing in powder clouds.
  • Wear the gloves and other protection the label specifies.
  • Mix only the amount you need for the area to be treated, and use it as the label directs.
  • Store the remaining powder sealed in its original pack, out of reach of children and away from food.

Where powders fit in bedbug control

Powders can be useful for treating cracks, joints and voids where the label allows. They do not replace inspection or follow-up, and they should never be spread on beds or bedding unless the label permits it. For an established infestation, our two-treatment programme treats hiding places across the room on two visits, six days apart. Read the label. Every time.

A pesticide label states where a product may be used, how much to apply and what precautions to take. It is the legal and safety reference for that product.

  • Use only where the label allows

Many sprays are not approved for mattresses, bedding or anywhere with prolonged skin contact.

  • Never exceed the stated amount

More product does not work better and increases exposure for your household.

  • Never mix products

Combining pesticides can be dangerous and is not more effective.

  • Professional products are for professionals

We do not sell professional-use-only products to household customers.
